At The Well, we love Israel! We are commanded to comfort her people (Isaiah 40:1), that we will be blessed if we bless her (Genesis 12:3) and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).
The first Wednesday of each month is a time of corporate prayer at The Well. Praying for Israel according to Isaiah 62:1 is a priority every month.
For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns. – Isaiah 62:1 NKJV
We also partner with the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ) – they are “feet on the ground” in Israel for Christians around the world, “doing good” to the Jewish people in the land through various humanitarian efforts including caring for elderly Holocaust survivors. The ICEJ also has undertaken the burden to educate Christians around the world concerning our relationship with the Jewish people and the state of Israel. In the past we have hosted ICEJ guest speakers such as Juha Ketola and Susan Michael.
Remembering The Holocaust
In the spring we remember the pain of The Holocaust (Yom Hashoa) and vow to “Never Forget”. We typically have a memorial service honoring those whose lives were tragically cut short. In the spirit of Romans 12:15 we “weep with those who weep”.
