Making Disciples

Characteristics of a Disciple

At The Well we want people to encounter Jesus through discipleship.  We are to follow the great command to make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19).  We ask people to move far beyond just believing that Jesus is the Son of God, but rather to lay down their lives, pick up their cross and become “followers” of Jesus.  Our discipleship efforts are focused on just that – to walk alongside people, encouraging, teaching , and exhorting them to follow Jesus and obey what He says (Matt 28:20).  While the characteristics of a disciple are a challenging list of qualities, we encourage people to aim for the highest level of following Jesus – to be overcomers.  We teach that if people live an overcoming life, then there is a permanent reward of residing with The Lord in the New Jerusalem (Rev 3:12)

In our discipleship efforts, we also teach the 7 Feasts of The Lord that Israel was instructed to keep and how Jesus fulfilled each feast .   We also believe that every Christian should experience the feasts on a personal level on their discipleship path.
